Seven ways we work,

Three have a price on the page, because the job is the same every time and you should not have to ask. Four are quoted, because nobody can price work on a system they have not looked at yet. Either way you get the number before anything starts.

Quoted

Custom web applications

Software built for how your business actually runs, the portal your customers log into, the booking system that knows its own constraints, the internal tool that replaces a spreadsheet nobody trusts. Scoped and staged, so you never commit the whole budget on faith.

Quoted

Custom development

Work on the site or system you already have. A feature that was quietly dropped, an integration that keeps breaking, a performance problem nobody could pin down, or a developer who simply stopped answering. We read the code first, then quote the actual job.

Quoted

Accessibility

WCAG 2.1 AA audits and remediation, done in the code rather than with an overlay script. Under ADA Title II, public entities serving 50,000 or more must conform by 26 April 2027, smaller ones by 26 April 2028.

Quoted

Website rescue

Stuck on a platform you cannot leave, held by a vendor who went quiet, or running on logins nobody has. We find out what you actually own, free, and then quote the real job. Plenty are small.

The floor

What every project gets, whichever door you came in

Built at phone width first

Most people who look you up are standing outside your door or sitting in a truck. The layout is drawn at that width and then allowed to grow, rather than drawn on a wide monitor and squeezed down afterwards until the phone version is an apology.

Your sentences, not filler

I draft the pages from a half-hour phone call, in the words you used on it, about the work you actually do. Nothing goes live saying that we are passionate about delivering solutions, because you have never said that out loud in your life.

The search fundamentals, done once

A title and a description written per page instead of left to chance, headings in an order that makes sense read aloud, clean addresses, a sitemap, and your Google Business Profile pointed at the right place. Groundwork, not a monthly retainer.

One page of plain-English notes

When it goes live you get a single sheet covering the handful of things you will genuinely want to change yourself, and a number to call for the rest. Not a forty-page manual that nobody opens twice.

Before you pick

You do not have to know which one you need

First

Tell me the symptom

Not the solution. Nobody can find us on Google. My web guy stopped replying. I want to stop paying for something I am not allowed to edit. The symptom tells me far more than a specification does, and it is usually the true budget too.

Then

I look at what you already have

If there is a site, I open it, read its source, check how it is hosted and look up publicly who is holding the domain. That takes twenty minutes and it is the whole difference between a real quote and a hopeful one.

Then

You get one number

A flat price, said out loud on the call, for the option I think you should take, including the option where you keep what you have and I fix three things instead. I am brutally honest, maybe to a fault, and it is cheaper for you that way.

Straight answers about picking one.

  • I cannot tell whether I need a new site or a rescue.

Open your site on your phone and try to do the thing a customer would do: find your hours, call you, work out what you sell. If it cannot manage that but the underlying structure is sound, it is a rescue. If there is nothing there, or what is there was never built properly, it is a new build. Send me the address and I will tell you which, at no charge, and I will say keep it if that is the honest answer.

  • Do I have to take the care plan?

No. A build is finished and yours on the day it goes live, and it will keep working with nobody on it. The plan exists because most owners would rather not be the person who finds out their certificate expired, and because edits stop happening the moment they require an email to a stranger.

  • Can I start with one and add another later?

That is the usual shape. Build first, then the plan if you decide you want someone watching it. Rescue plus plan is the other common pair, because the reason the old site rotted is almost always that nobody owned it, and moving it without fixing that just relocates the problem.

  • Who actually does the work?

Me. There is no account manager, no junior building it while a senior name sits on the invoice, and no team in another time zone you will never speak to. 15+ years of this, most recently running a platform of about a hundred sites for a university, and before that accessibility and conversion work for national brands. All of which is a claim until you look at it, so it is on its own page with the screenshots.

  • Do I need the marketing plan as well?

Almost certainly not on day one. Get the site right first, let it run for a month or two and see what arrives on its own. The Growth Plan earns its keep for a business that already has something working and wants more people finding it, and taking it before that is paying to advertise a shop you have not finished fitting out.

Priced on the page

A website is $999, and $199 a month to look after. Marketing is $750 a month with your ad spend paid direct and never marked up. Three fixed prices, no contract on the monthly plans, and the site is yours if you leave.

Custom work

When what you need is not on a price list

Changing a site you already have

A page that will not do what you want, a form that loses enquiries, a checkout nobody finishes. We work on the site you own rather than quoting you a replacement for it.

Work on an existing app

Someone built it, then left, or it never quite got finished. We read the code first and tell you honestly what it would take, including when the answer is that it is not worth it.

Larger website builds

Many pages, several audiences, staff who all need to publish without breaking anything. Governed sites with real content operations behind them, the kind universities and national retailers run.

Custom back ends and systems

Databases, logins, bookings, inventory, reporting, and the connections between the systems you already pay for. Software that happens to live in a browser.

How it is priced

All of it is quoted, because a number for work nobody has looked at yet is a guess. Looking costs nothing, and you get a fixed figure for a defined scope before anything starts.

What you end up owning

Everything: the code, the database, the hosting accounts and the documentation. Larger builds ship in stages, so you see something working long before the last invoice.
